You'll contribute to ending world hunger by ...

helping the implementation of health interventions within AAH-USA programming, and being part of nutrition and health initiatives at the both AAH-US New York and regional level. Specifically, the main responsibilities are to:

  • Provide technical and operational support to primary health care interventions in AAH-US programming
  • Provide leadership and support in the integration of nutrition into the “Integrated Community Case Management” (iCCM) and other community health platforms, as well as any related Action Against Hunger USA research efforts in this area    
  • Liase with specific country teams in the identification, orientation and capacity building of technical teams.
  • Contribute to learning, capitalization and uptake of AAH programming and experiences, including research and advocacy initiatives in the integration of nutrition into community health interventions.

Key activities in your role will include
  • Providing health technical guidance, helping the country teams to ensure application of project cycle management from conception to evaluation.
  • Providing general technical support, organizational learning, and uptake related to nutrition and health.
  • Participating in the selection, placement and orientation of candidates, contributing to the recruitment of health technical field practitioners.
  • Representation and coordinating internal and external communication related to nutrition and health initiatives.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

You are a humanitarian professional with technical expertise in Human Nutrition, Public Health, Medicine or related field

  • You have a Degree in Human Nutrition, Public Health, Medicine, or related field with over 7 years’ experience in N/H programs overseas with an international humanitarian organization, or
  • You have a Post-Graduate degree (master’s Degree or higher) in Human Nutrition, Public Health, Medicine, or related field with a minimum of 3 years previous work in N/H programs overseas with an international humanitarian organization.

You have an extensive experience

  • Working in humanitarian contexts, emergency and post-crisis. 
  • Working as an expert in areas related to Health and Nutrition with a focus on Primary Health Care, Nutrition-related Public Health, Community Mobilization, Monitoring & Evaluation;
  • Working knowledge of CMAM and IMAM, SMART, SQEAC, KAP, IYCF, iCCM, or other Nutrition programming with emphasis on Public Health (highly desirable).

You are flexible, adaptable, dynamic and enthusiastic

  • You are motivated to work within the humanitarian sector and to link it to other initiatives (research, external communication, outreach, etc.).
  • You can present clear ideas and arguments, providing distance support, training and influence.
  • You are proactive, autonomous, and reliable.
